Abdul Wahid Dilawar is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) with over 11 years of experience in audit, accounting, and fund management. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University (UK), with a thesis analyzing UK corporate governance in the Patisserie Valerie case. As an ACCA member with an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business, he brings expertise to Azizi Bank’s commitment to excellence.
Mr. Dilawar started at KPMG in Afghanistan as an Audit Trainee and Associate, later becoming Audit Senior at EY, where he strengthened his skills in international auditing and financial reporting standards. He advanced to Audit Manager at Afghanistan Holding Group and then joined Certified Professional Accountants Afghanistan (CPA Afghanistan) as a Quality Assurance Reviewer. Promoted to Head of Quality Assurance and Professional Conduct, and later Acting CEO, he upheld high audit standards. He also taught ACCA courses part-time at the American University of Afghanistan.
Internationally, Mr. Dilawar worked as a Senior Fund Accountant at Alter Domus in Cork, Ireland, managing portfolios for JPMorgan, Civitas Investment Management, and Brook Lane Capital across the UK, Luxembourg, Sweden, and Cyprus. He conducted external audits for Irish insurance firms and credit unions, showcasing his expertise in global financial standards. As a member of the South Asian Federation of Accountants’ Audit Committee, he has supported regional professional standards.
Currently, as Senior Audit Staff at Xeinadin in the UK and Ireland, Mr. Dilawar contributes deep knowledge of corporate governance and compliance. At Azizi Bank, he serves as an Independent Member of the Audit Committee, ensuring strong internal controls and ethical banking practices. His proficiency in international auditing and financial reporting standards supports Azizi Bank’s transparent operations.
