Mr. Khanullah Yousufzai

Mr. Khanullah Yousufzai started his banking career in Internal Audit function from 2009 onwards moving to Risk Management in 2017, Compliance in 2019 and thereafter to Operations department in 2022.

He has over 16 years of experience in the banking industry (inclusive of four and half years in Islamic Banking) amongst others. He has performed in important roles such as Internal Audit Manager, Risk Manager, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, Deputy Chief Operating Officer in Islamic Bank of Afghanistan and Azizi Bank, as Chief Operating Officer in Azizi Bank before assuming the responsibilities of Deputy CEO. After a successful tenure of more than one year as Deputy CEO, he was appointed as the chief executive officer of the Bank.

Mr. Yousufzai is an MBA in Accounting and Finance and has acquired various professional qualifications such as CAMS, Certification in Internal Control and Auditing, Certification in Islamic Banking from Turkey and Pakistan etc.

His work in Audit, Risk Management, Compliance and Operations covers all aspects including but not limited to development of policies, procedures, SOPs, guidelines, Internal Control, Cash Management, other operational activities, development of AML/CFT compliance models on Risk Based Approach, Regulatory Compliance, Investigations, sanctions Screening, Transaction monitoring, correspondent bank account opening, Business Development and Training etc.

Mr. Yousufzai excels in leadership skills and takes a pro-active approach towards problem solving. He maintains excellent relationship with VIP customers with dynamic approach towards providing customer centric solutions.

Mr. Syed Anwar Raza

Mr. Raza has been working with the Bank since June 2018 and worked as the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Marketing Officer. He is a career banker having more than 31 years of commercial banking experience across all domains like Operations, Foreign Exchange, Credit, Trade Finance and Sales & Marketing.

A Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers, Mr. Raza specializes in Customer Relations, International Banking, Business Development and Service Delivery. He has worked at senior positions internationally with prestigious Banks with proven resulted oriented track record.

He holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing, CAMS Certification and CSAA certification from AAOIFI related with Islamic Banking..

Mr. Fazal Rahman Halimi

Mr. Fazal Rahman Halimi holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, specializing in Finance, from Kabul. He began his banking career in 2009 with Afghanistan International Bank, where he served in various positions and gained diverse experience in Operations and Credit.
He developed strong expertise in Payments, Back Office Reconciliation, and Customer Service before choosing Credit as his primary area of specialization. He worked as a Credit Relationship Manager for several years before joining Azizi Bank in 2019 as a Credit Analyst. In recognition of his excellent performance, Azizi Bank promoted him to the position of Deputy Chief Credit Officer in 2022.
He has 16 years of extensive banking experience in credit management, trade finance, retail and corporate banking, and banking operations, with in-depth knowledge of the Afghan market. He also holds certifications in Associate Professional Risk Management (APRM), Banking Leadership, Advanced Credit, and Financial Modeling & Evaluation, which add significant value to both the Bank and his professional career.

Mohammad Shoaib Usufi

Mohammad Shoaib Usufi is an experienced financial services professional with extensive exposure to auditing and reporting, operations, cash management, training, business development, internal control, risk management, and regulatory compliance. He has over 14 years of diverse experience in the banking industry, with a strong record of achieving performance-driven results through action plan implementation, budgeting, operational efficiency, staff development and supervision, and policy and procedure development. He has proven ability in building, leading, and motivating high-performing teams committed to achieving common goals and a shared vision.
He began his banking career in August 2009 with Azizi Bank and has served in various roles, including Branch Manager, Senior Audit Officer, Audit Manager, and Deputy Operations Officer, before assuming the responsibilities of Chief Operations Officer.
In addition to his academic qualifications, throughout his more than 14 years of experience in the banking sector, he has completed various professional training courses, including the first module of CIA (IIA), Fraud and Forensic Auditing, IFRS 9 – Measurement of Financial Instruments, Business Leadership Development, Modern Accounting, marketing and business management, Risk Management, Compliance, and General Banking.
